I have the Villager style in 5x8, and it really does perk up a room and cover up any imperfections in your original flooring (such as an older carpet or a scuffed old floor). Instant redecoration for not that much. I think the 5x8 is a very good size for all but the largest living room areas.The Villager style (this one) has very small bamboo slats, so it is flexible and lies nicely. We eat off tray tables and our tables have no problem standing upright and level on this rug.
If you have brights accenting your room (pinks, reds, turquoise, etc) or a black and white decor with accents, this will look great. With a red sofa, it's killer.
No strange smell, as I've noticed with less expensive rugs. The backing grips nicely, not harshly. It does have some unevenness in how it lays, but that may be cause it was all rolled up for delivery, and that may ease off eventually. Still, not a problem. It's minor.
The edging is of a nice quality, thick fabric with texture.
Really nice. Feels good on my feet. Pretties up my room. What's not to like.
